Freeze protection

Trace Heating Cabling

Protects from freezing, and thus prevent burst water pipes

Domestic, commercial and industrial.

Cables installed will prevent burst pipes due to sub-zero temperatures.

The cable is installed along the path of water pipes or any liquid to prevent freeze, or prevent solidification of oil etc (industrial).

The wiring can be controlled via a thermostat or automatic. Typically, for water pipes -1c/0c (outside temp) is the cut in, the wiring is relatively simple. The actual cost in electricity is approx 9 watts per metre, and is very cheap to run. The cut in is 0c or less, no power usage if over 1c, or higher if required.

Industry may need a higher degree of control.

Typical use:

Central Heating, condensing boilers. Freezing up of the pipe that takes waste water away. If ice is formed and blocks the water outlet in the pipe this can and should cause the boiler to shut down. The boilers safety function valve will prevent the boiler from igniting/and or shut the boiler down if water cannot escape. Trace heating is a preventive measure rather than a fix, damage to the boiler may or may not have already occurred, if the outlet is blocked. Prevention is always the intent for all trace heating applications.
